Artist Inspiration Sculpture
For this project you will be creating a sculpture that is inspired by a famous artist's work or inspired by a time period in art. You will be creating a new and unique sculpture based off of the artist/ time period found. YOU ARE NOT recreating a work of art that already exists.
If you do not have clay find an artist that works with paper and create a paper sculpture instead of clay.
STEP 1:
4/28 - 4/29
You will need to find a time period/ artist to use as inspiration for your final project. Follow the link to a few websites that will get you started in finding an artist. Some artist may create very cool work, but might not be suitable for this project. See your project rubric as you are expected to create a complex and detailed sculpture.
Step 2:
4/30 - 5/1
Once you have your artist/ time period you will need to answer the following questions in a google doc
share with morrism@hcsud2.org (10 points)
-
What artist/ time period will I be using for inspiration?
-
What techniques will I use to build the sculpture? (coil, slab, etc)
-
What is my sculpture going to be?
Step 3:
5/5
Create an inspiration board (on same google doc that has you're previous 3 questions)
This inspiration board should have a minimum of 5 resource images that will help you to complete your final sculpture. These should be a combination of works of art by your artist and/or new imagery/ designs that you will be including into your project. Share with morrism@hcusd2.org when complete (10 points)
Step 4:
5/6 - 5/7
Roughly draw what your sculpture is going to look like. Be sure to include front, back and side views. **Should be drawn full scale** Share photo of sketch on remind or to morrism@hcusd2.org (10 points)
Step 5:
5/8 - 5/15
Slab, pinch, coil, add, subtract, sculpt, cut and carve your final sculpture. Send progress of sculpture build on Friday 5/15 (10 points)
